Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes are:

·       Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, our organisation or someone else, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests are:

Legitimate Interest – Marketing Communications
Javelinas Group acts as the primary data controller for contact information relating to businesses and organisations that may be interested in our branded merchandise and product design services. Willows Marketing Ltd acts as a separate, third-party data controller, supporting Javelinas Group with marketing strategy, content development and distribution of email campaigns on our behalf. Both organisations rely on “legitimate interest” as our lawful basis for sending service updates and marketing communications to business contacts. We only process very limited personal information—typically a name, job title and business email address. We obtain these details because the individual works in a role where they may reasonably expect to receive information about branded merchandise, design-led promotional products, sustainability initiatives or related services. Our processing is necessary in order to inform relevant organisations about products, services and updates that may support their commercial, marketing or operational needs. The benefits of this processing include enabling potential clients to discover sustainable, custom-made merchandise solutions, receiving timely updates on industry trends, and accessing support that may be relevant to their role. We consider that these benefits outweigh any minimal privacy impact, given that we send communications to corporate email addresses, limit our contact to relevant professionals, and provide clear opt-out options in every message. Willows Marketing Ltd acts as a third-party controller only for the purpose of managing and distributing these communications on behalf of Javelinas Group. Willows Marketing does not use the data for any purpose unrelated to Javelinas Group’s marketing activities and stores it securely for this sole purpose. Individuals can unsubscribe at any time, and both Javelinas Group and Willows Marketing ensure that their interests, rights and freedoms are fully respected.

For more information on our use of legitimate interests as a lawful basis you can contact us using the contact details set out above.
